Quote & Fact...
Quote:
"The business of the poet and the novelist is to show the sorriness underlying the grandest things and the grandeur underlying the sorriest things."
"Pessimism is playing the sure game. You cannot lose at it; you may gain. It is the only view of life in which you can never be disappointed. Having reckoned what to do in the worst possible circumstances, when better arise, as they may, life becomes child's play."
~ Thomas Hardy
Facts: (Unique Town/City Names)
Rhode Island :
Scituate - Pronounced SIH-choo-ayt, original spelling of the town's name was "Satuit", a native Indian word meaning "cold brook" or "cold river." (Hmm, okay, nothing to add.)
Woonsocket - Indigenous people named, the word signifying "at the place of mist." (Nothing to add... Again.)
