Challenge #9

Talk about your favorite tropes in media or transformative works. (Feel free to substitute in theme/motif/cliche if "trope" doesn't resonate with you.)

More than kid!fic, Fusion, Crossovers or AU; I love crack fic. Even in my books and movies, the absurd draws my attention.

Robert Asprin’s Myth Series, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. Spaceballs…

Things that make me smile and laugh. And make my readers wonder wtf am I on!

I have read some amazing crackfic! But it seems like whenever I try to write it, it turns all serious and doesn't have that crazy, silly, fun feeling that crackfic should have. I applaud anyone who can nail that trope!

I never try it, but that's what always happens. Maybe I should make an effort at crack taken seriously and get the opposite result? LOL!

A good crackfic is invaluable, but I have to admit that I like the ones that also manage to be completely crackfic and provide coherent explanations for all the crackiness. Mostly because I like the explanations as much as I do the comedy.

Gotta love a good crack fic, whether it's fan or canon. I especially like crack treated seriously. There's something so... vulnerable, I guess, in that kind of earnest absurdity? Because the person behind it is here to have a good time and offer a good time and isn't concerned about looking too silly.
